Sweet blessings!

So, my dad got on to me about my blog and how I have been slacking. I guess it is time for another post! We usually stay busy but it seems this time of year we are especially busy. I am going to try and blog at least once a week but no promises =)

I am 19 weeks today! Almost half way! We are beyond excited, because we will find out the sex on Monday. Of course they will also take measurements and verify that everything is developing correctly. This part makes me nervous but I know God is in control.

Here's a little something for you moms:
Maggie is in the process of cutting a few more teeth and has had a difficult time getting comfortable at night. The other night she woke up around 2:00 and you could tell she was just in pain. I let her come in bed with us so I could comfort her. While she was laying next to me I was rubbing her back and the new baby just started moving up a storm. I laid there with one hand on Maggie and the other on my stomach feeling the moves of our new blessing. Although it was 2:00 in the morning and I had to be up at 5:15 to get ready for work, all I could do was cherish the moment and praise God for blessing me with these two sweet children.

I told Josh about this the next morning and he said he would be sure to remind me of this story in May when we are up with two crying kids and haven't slept in three days. LOL!

In other news, we finished decorating for Christmas today. To my surprise, Maggie has done really well with the tree. We put her ornaments on the bottom and she likes to take them off put there is no harm done! Her favorite ornaments are the the round ones. She thinks the are balls.

Here is a video too! I am not sure why it turned when I uploaded it.
I also have no idea how to fix it. Sorry!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well, I was really hoping to return to blogging before now but we have been busy. This past weekend we decided to take a quick trip to Georgia to visit Josh's grandparents. They are so good to me I think I will claim them as my own ;) They have been trying to come for a visit but health issues have prevented them from making the trip up. We thought it would be great if they could spend some time with Maggie. We had the best weekend!

We left Friday afternoon and Grammy had dinner on the table when we walked in. As soon as dinner was over, Josh and Papa went to the local football game. It was rivalry week. Josh was excited to see a close game.  They had a great time!

Saturday was filled with lots of family! Josh's aunts, uncles, and cousins came over for lunch and of course to play with Maggie. She was a little shy at first but it didn't take her long to start cheesing it up.

On Sunday we went to church. Their church is very large. I was nervous about leaving Maggie in the nursery because she has been wanting to be wherever I am these days. I was so surprised that she went right in and played without crying. I think she was excited to have some girls to play with. Our church nursery is mostly boys. Maggie also got to meet Grammy's Sunday school friends. All she wanted to do was to blow them kisses.

Here are some pictures from this weekend:
Papa caught these two footballs at one of the games earlier this year just for Maggie. She LOVED them!
Josh use to play with this bus when he was little. Of course Maggie was all about this.

This horse was made by Josh's Great-Grandaddy. He was amazing at carving wooden objects. Josh rode this horse all the time when he visited. Maggie had the best time with this little horse. Grammy and Papa enjoyed watching her on it too!

Here is Maggie and Papa! She just LOVED him! I have to admit I did a horrible job of taking group photos. We didn't get any with Grammy =(

We also made turkey cookies with oreos and Maggie thought they were a hit!

We had a blast with family this weekend. I wish we loved closer. It was so fun to watch Grammy and Papa love on Maggie and make memories with her. I can't wait for this baby to get here so he/she can be a part of all these wonderful memories!

Finally getting started!

Most of you know that I have been talking about starting a blog for a while. I finally decided on a blog name. I am so excited I actually made it this far! I have sat down countless times to start blogging and always quit because I can't get past the page of creating your blog name.Ha! We (Josh and I ) decided to go with, JAR of JAM+1. This stands for Just a Report of Josh, Audrey, Maggie +1.

My goal is to share where we are in life as a growing family. I would love to share the laughs and hardships we are going through with others who have been where we are, are currently walking the same road, or will soon be walking this road.

So join our journey as we travel from a family of three to a family of four!
